HealthVault in Canada

Microsoft HealthVaultImage via Wikipedia

Interestingly enough, it took MS HealthVault quite some time to enter Canada. On last year's Medicine 2.0 conference in Toronto I've had an interesting conversation with Jen McCabe Gorman and Francisco J Grajales III about (mis)trust of Canadians towards USA based services that collect sensitive personal data.
In Europe (Slovenia at least) it is at the moment not possible to use HV unless you were one of the early birds and registered quite some time ago (and declared yourself US based).
I often think of why PHRs are not yet as widespread in Europe as they are in the states. I imagine it all comes down to the user perception of payable vs state paid health care and the general lack of private sector innovation drive due to underdeveloped market.
